Workday Functional Lead, Cambridge

  • This role will be an integral part of the new, enlarged People Technology Team responsible for people related technology within AVEVA. The role will be leading on a Functional area and will be responsible for all related technology. Working closely with the relevant COE lead, you will partner with HR stakeholders to ensure technology is fit for purpose and provides a foundation to deliver an outstanding employee experience at AVEVA._
  • This role is part of the Global People Technology team that sits within the People Experience function._

Responsibilities:


  • Own all related Functional People technology and take responsibility for maintaining and developing based on business requirements.
  • Lead on and manage the development, testing and implementation of system upgrades/changes/developments related to Functional area, ensuring formalised procedures are adopted.
  • Be the Functional expert and 3rd line support for associated functional area. Point of escalation for technology related queries and issues.
  • Proactively identify potential system issues and put in place measures to address them.
  • Partner with the COE lead to ensure technology is fit for purpose and meets business needs. Recommend system enhancements and ensure we are maximising the capability of existing technology.
  • Regularly review requirements and proactively monitor new features released by Workday, recommending adoption plans if appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Process Manager and CoE lead to ensure technology related process documentation is up to date and accessible by HR colleagues.
  • Create and maintain end user training documentation.
  • Actively adapt change management methodologies to launch and promote new and existing process within their functional area
  • Oversee proper use of People technologies and provide support, advice and training on best practice to HR colleagues.
  • Represent the People Technology team on HR projects as required, interpretating requirements, suggesting solutions and ensuring associated deliverables are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly the HR CoE's and HR Services teams.
  • Participate actively in the Workday Community, propose and advocate for improvements to the Workday solution and build a network of peers to share best practice with.
  • Handle sensitive data with care always having GDPR in mind, ensuring all necessary security measures are taken.
OneSoftware Project Responsibilities

  • Lead on Security related design decisions, making sure they are fully documented and accessible.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the ETAP and RIB HR teams and become a trusted partner and advisor
  • Support and advise the AVEVA, ETAP and RIB teams with their understanding of the Workday platform and help translate technical information into a language they can understand.
  • Work closely with the implementation partner to ensure all technical configuration is understood and any knowledge transfer that is required takes place.
  • Contribute to OneSoftware project steering committee governance meetings.
  • Take a lead role on testing and support other members of the team with testing queries.
  • Support and deliver training to ETAP and RIB HR members on the Workday platform.
Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or 5 + years relevant experience in a related discipline.
  • Specialized knowledge of HRIS technology within a Global organisation
  • Ideally Workday.
  • Ability to deal with complex and varied problems and come up with appropriate solutions.
  • Able to lead conversations with external vendors around technology requirements.
  • Able to identify potential technology issues before they arise and put in place measures to address them.
  • Flexibility to work in a global team across multiple time zones.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Strong planning and project management skills are essential; manage time well, recognise priorities and accomplish all objectives.
  • Good communication skills able to communicate across cultures at all levels.
  • Well developed general IT skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations like GDPR.
