The Opportunity

Job Purpose
Deliver and ensure compliance of all investment activitiesto meet the Cadent business plan targets across the Network.


Functional accountabilities

  • Responsible for developing business cases (T002/DPSC) to allow projects to be raised andinitiated. Working closely with Investment Planning Office (IPO), Safety & Engineering, Capital Delivery & Finance
  • Accountable for the close out of Projects in line with Cadent'spolicies & procedures working closely with the IPO Team & Portfolio Specialists to capture all project costs correctly and in a timely manner
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting of project spend against delivery forecast
  • Responsible for liaising with Network Control, IPO, Strategic Partners, Capital Delivery, and subcontractors to ensure that the competent project resources are deployed
  • Responsible for monitoring CDM/SCCFcompliance/assuranceof all works
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely, on time and to appropriate levels of performance
  • Accountable for site visits to ensure that setting to work has taken place effectively, with the control documentation (NRO, PTW etc) briefed effectively, roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and followed/implemented
  • Responsible for ensuring strict compliance with Safe Control of Operations (SCO)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with management and control of new works, modifications and repair policies (e.g.,G17 process) for project work scope
  • Accountable for ensuring adequate RAMS are in place for theproject work scope
  • Accountable for controlling project scope
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance of contract and subcontract provisions
  • Responsible for participating in prestart meetings
  • Provide technical support to the Area Managers as operational requirements emerge
  • Participate within the Network Operational Standby rota
  • Liaison with ECC to arrange Network access (outage windows)
  • Ensure compliance with design standards and specifications
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with Cyber policy & procedures
  • Contribute towards the Future Energy journey for Energy Operations
  • Ensure all data is captured accurately and handled/stored to comply with Cadent Policies & Procedures

Specialist Accountabilities

  • Manage full G17 process parts A-F for investmentwork as appropriate
  • Assist with design of current & future energy needs
  • Responsible for full compliance with Safe Control of Operations (AE & CP)
  • Be accountable for onsite incident supervision and investigation in line with company procedures i.e. Fire, Explosion, Evacuation.
  • Act as the formal Cadent Delivery interface with the contractor for all day to day construction site activities
  • Monitor Health & Safety systems of work operated by the Principal Contractor and subcontractors throughout the duration of the project
  • Oversee the establishment of an effective system for all relevant permit requirements and ensure it is being implemented by the contractor
  • Ensure all method statements have been reviewed and all site activities are undertaken in accordance with the Method Statement to minimise hazards and risk to personnel and plant
  • Ensure Contractors install works to Approved for Construction drawings
  • Ensure all personnel are suitably competent and authorised under the SCO process
  • Working with the Contractor to coordinate test and inspection activities detailed in the Works Information and accepted Quality Assurance Plan
  • Ensures that any predelivery test or inspection activities of plant and materials detailed in the works Information have been undertaken
  • Ensure that appropriate systems are in place to manage and control materials
  • Monitor and report on site activities
  • Identifying, recording,and notifying the Contractor of defects
  • Manage the close out of issues raised through audit & inspection activities
  • Monitor and record close out of health, safety, environmental & technical inspection actions Support the review and preparation of Non-Routine Procedures, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
