Description

Large listed IT/Telco seeks a personable financial analyst with strong data skills to work as an interface between operations and group finance.

You may be a Top 6 ACA or currently working with data in a business partnering role and be looking for a new challenge.

As Commercial Financial Analyst, you will support the business to make commercial decisions - driving revenue, reducing costs, improving profitability on both ongoing business and new projects, by providing insightful data, creating informative reports,improving process or ad hoc analysis


You will produce information/analysis of a high quality which fairly reflects or challenges the views of the business to inform key decisions or drive actions.


You will build out reporting to demonstrate governance processes are being followed and you'll explore automation and process improvements related to the commercial financial process.


You will also support the wider Commercial Team and the Sales and Deal Desk Teams to construct profitable commercial propositions as well as supporting revenue assurance activities to ensure contracts are performing to financial expectations and identifyingareas to exceed performance and accelerate growth.


Contract Management

  • Own the Contract Management database and support the future systemisation and associated process with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure contracts are signed off within agreed governance parameters, agreed timescales and saved in a central location for future access.
  • Track and report on bespoke customer contract requirements, SLA's and other nonstandard clauses across the business to ensure Gammas' commitments are fully understood.

Commercial Management

  • Provide monthly reporting on sales opportunities to ensure Commercial fully understand the funnel and identify associated complex/large bids where Commercial or Governance input is required.
  • Support the Sales and Deal Desk Teams on large or complex bids as may be defined or required from time to time.
  • Analyse and understand competitor propositions and pressures, maintaining records of information and sharing with relevant departments.
  • Support Sales and Deal Desk Teams to build business cases, including ROI and Payback models to validate commercial opportunities, demonstrating impact on profitability and cashflow.

Reporting and Insights

  • Work with key stakeholders to identify, define and develop Commercial reporting requirements.
  • Leverage data insights to underpin solid Commercial recommendations to the Head of Commercial Management, Direct Finance Director, and Sales Director to help drive margin growth.
  • Review Commercial KPIs on a regular basis and ensure any follow up actions are made.
  • Use of insight to identify where customer profitability can be improved, understand churn leakage, associated behaviours, and ultimately help improve the bottom line.
  • Track pricing across the business to understand product price moves and ensure agreed floor price parameters are being followed and make recommendations as required.
  • Manage and develop the Contract Management dataset in the Direct business and utilise to share key information and to make informed business decisions.

Person requirements:


  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • High level of analysis and initiative, a competent problem solver and critical thinker.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and analytical tools, to analyse, manipulate and understand financial data.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, SQL and Power BI skills.
  • Experience in Database Management or Contract Lifecycle Management advantageous.
  • Experience in Revenue assurance advantageous.
  • Commercial understanding, including pricing models, forecasting and business cases.
  • Telecom industry knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge, suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Experience of Salesforce desirable.
  • A critical eye for detail whilst retaining the ability to see the big picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage competing priorities effectively with an emphasis on delivering the highest level of quality and accuracy.
  • Professional and proactive with a confident, positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Selfmotivated and a team player, with a willingness to support and assist other team members and colleagues from across the company where required.
