An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Housing, Adaptations and Specialist equipment (HASE) occupational therapy team.

We provide comprehensive OT assessments relating to housing, major adaptations (DFGs), minor adaptations, and specialist equipment for residents of Worcestershire.

This is a permanent post, for 29.We offer and support continuing professional development to equip you with the skills and knowledge required for this post.

Housing, equipment, and adaptations for all age groups is our specialism and the core area of our work.

You will carry out functional assessments within the home and, working with the resident and their carers, identify the challenges faced in remaining at home safely whilst managing everyday tasks.

Having identified the challenges, you will use robust clinical reasoning to make recommendations in relation to the provision of major adaptations, housing and rehousing, specialist and none specialist equipment, and minor adaptations.

You will work in partnership with other health professionals, Local Councils, and the Home Improvement Agency to help deliver these recommendations with the aim of promoting independence, safety, quality of life and good health outcomes for residents in Worcestershire.

You will be responsible for the recording, planning, and managing your own caseload.
You will contribute to the smooth running of an office, team and to wider service development.

The post holder will undertake occupational therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling the clients to achieve their maximum independence.

Work with clients to assess for major adaptations, specialist equipment and housing needs

Liaise with other health and social care professionals, families/carers, statutory and voluntary organisations to enable people to continue to live in their own homes.

Contribute to the supervision of staff and students.
Work within the services quality standards and observe the policies and procedures of the Trust.

Comply with the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and national and local policies and procedures.

Respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of clients and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Health Professionals Council Registration
Evidence of relevant post graduate courses / Continual Professional Development maintained portfolio
A range of post registration experience including in a health and social care setting
Experience of delegation to qualified/unqualified staff

Ability to communicate effectively in English in written format.
Knowledge of the adaptation and Disabled Facility Grant.
High level of knowledge relating to disability equipment.

Able to meet the travel requirements of the role
