Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt.


We have an opportunity for a Learning Support Coach to work across its different Training Centres to support the development and provision of support services for learners with Education and Health Care Plans.

You will be required to meet learners to ensure our provision can meet their needs and monitor their provision throughout their learner journey.

This support is wide ranging, looking across all types of provision (apprenticeship, study programme, traineeship, and supported internship) so that learners benefit fully from the opportunities provided by their programme and have the best possible chance to achieve their potential.


This is a Fixed Term Contract to 29/02/2024

Key Responsibilities:


  • To complete initial meetings to assess learner needs and create Individual Education Plans.
  • Coordinate and quality assure the provision of learning support for all learners
  • To support staff to be able to plan and deliver effective support for learners with a wide range of support needs including SEND
  • Work with delivery staff and eLearning content developers to review, refresh and revamp materials/resources appropriate to the needs of different learner groups including use of elearning tools, resources and assistive technology and other adaptations
  • Help promote and facilitate the awareness and identification of additional learning needs and the types of support required by different learner groups to ensure programmes are accessible and inclusive
  • Monitor accurate and timely completion of all learning support records
  • Complete Educational Health Care Plan Annual Reviews and Personal Education Plan meetings for Children in Care.
  • Manage a caseload of SEND learners and engage with multiagencies as appropriate.
  • Support the Learning Support Managers on their daytoday responsibilities, for example: Evaluate the effectiveness of additional learning support and make recommendations to the Learning Support Manager for any further development of services including access to funding and bidding/tendering opportunities.

About You:


  • Ability to analyse problems, recommend and successfully implement solutions
  • Previous experience of working and developing ALS/ALN and SEND provision
  • Ability to achieve results through coaching, supporting, and directing others
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills

Skills Required:


  • Credibility to represent the company with referral organisations/aftercare providers
  • Fully qualified and experienced teacher desirable
  • SEN background ideal
  • At least 5 years' experience of providing learning support (including personal & social development) to young people and adults
  • Preferably at least one specialism (e.g., drugs/alcohol, BSL, counselling, IAG, CBT, Youth/Social Work qual)
  • Experience of working with SEND learners including those with mental and physical health related issues
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections
  • Preferably experience in a supervisory or management role.
