    To achieve this, we have recently set up a dedicated Digital Process function, to house capabilities in the delivery of automation and workflow solutions.

    The team report to the Chief Operating Officer and serve all functions covering our front and back office. They act as a partner function to our Technology Teams.

    Presently, the team are scaling up to support an in-flight global digital transformation programme gearing up for execution in 2024.

    As an Appian Architect in the Digital Process team, you are passionate about managing the delivery of better, more effective solutions to solve business problems and you are skilled in navigating complex landscapes.

    You will play a crucial role in shaping the technical architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability of Pacific Life Re's Appian workflows.

    You will provide oversight and technical guidance at all stages of our development cycle, including initial identification of business challenges, requirements definition and subsequent development of solutions, embedding of new capabilities into the business and ongoing monitoring of effectiveness of any embedded capabilities.

    Conduct training of team members to enhance Appian development skills.
    Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
    Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the Appian applications.
    Conduct thorough peer reviews and quality assurance of Appian applications to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.


    Quality Assurance:
    Own coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for the Appian development team.
    Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
    Create and maintain technical documentation for Appian applications, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and user guides.
    Act as Appian Architect to support the robust, reusable and future-proofed design off workflow & automation solutions supporting our digital transformation programme: Help to mentor, train and upskill our internal development team in Appian: 25%
    Help coordinate the sharing of best practice and IP across peer Appian team in other
    Pacific Life Divisions: 10%
    Appian Certified Developer or Appian Certified Senior Developer certification
    Strong understanding of business process modelling, system integration, and database design. Experience with Appian best practices, design patterns, and performance optimisation.
    Proven track record of successfully architecting complex Appian projects.

    Numerate & financially literate, ideally with a financial qualification or a highly numerate degree.
    Knowledge of needs analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering & solution discovery.
