£44,539 rising to £45,495 after successful induction and probationary period.

37 hours to be worked flexibly.

Fixed term until 31 March 2024 to cover maternity leave

About you:


You will:

  • Be an inspirational leader, who is a role model for outstanding, personalised support and has a passion for providing support that meets and exceeds our internal quality and standards and those of our regulators.
  • Be experienced in managing registered services and have experience in a senior management role.
  • Have a 'handson approach' we expect our Head of Service to be visible within our services and approachable to all members of the team.

  • Have experience in auditing and ensuring that action plans are created and achieved.
  • Be confident with technology and able to support the implementation of care planning software.
To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Senior operational experience in Health and Social Care, with experience in leading and managing within the sector.
  • Operational experience in managing dispersed services and staff teams.
  • Level 5 or equivalent professional/management qualification.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Experience being a CQC registered manager and being involved in regulatory inspections.
  • Experience in supporting and managing registered managers.
  • Be experienced and confident in the use of ICT systems and equipment including but not limited to:
  • Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, Care management software).

About the role:


We are excited to be recruiting an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Service to work with services supporting managers and ensuring compliance.

We support people with learning disabilities and older people within Bury, Greater Manchester. We provide a range of services for adults who have learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities. These services are very diverse and offer a unique and exciting opportunity to empower the people we support.


As the Head of Service, you will be working alongside the Director of Care and Head of Care, ensuring services are compliant and ensuring delivery of quality services to people receiving support.

Your role will involve ensuring services are delivered in line with the Persona values and that the services being delivered to people we support are safe, caring, effective, responsive, and well-led.

Bringing about change, being consistent, leading by example, and maintaining focus on quality.


For this role, you will have a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and be able to identify concerns and act to resolve these quickly and effectively.


We work in an agile way; in this role you will need to have a presence with services within the Bury area but you will also be equipped to work from home or one of our office bases if preferred.
