Working hours:
Initially mon-fri, 24/5 12hr shift pattern during VRAS SCL Construction, 24/7 12hr during OOC Tunnels Construction.


Contract:
Permanent.

Role
SCL Shift Engineer for Area Central.


Responsible for the SCL works on site, taking a significant role in delivery as well as managing aspects of time, cost and quality.

Will acquire technical (engineering/tunnelling), leadership and project management skills and experience. Shift engineer willspend most of the time at the tunnel face with the mining gang. Shift engineer will use total station and profile control software to support miners with the excavation and spray profiles.


Role Responsibility

  • Support the Sub Agent and Shift Manager in setting up and undertaking the SCL works.
  • Responsible for the SCL works on site: checking the excavation is within tolerance, directing the thickness of the sprayed concrete lining, preparation and completion of checksheets to record all details related to the SCL works.
  • Ensure the works are conducted in accordance with the project requirements including health and safety, where this is not observed reporting the nonconformance to the shift manager or supervisor.
  • Be conversant with all drawings, specifications and related information for the works under their control, asking for advice where unsure.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of workrelated discussions with client / designer / RE / project team.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the Client and within the team promote an aim to exceed Client expectations.
  • Prepare the Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Plans and Procedures for the construction works with help and ensure that the work is being carried out as specified.
  • Work with the construction and quality teams to complete Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation and checksheets are produced in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all settingout and quality control procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner, so as not to impede the construction programme.
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implementedon the project.

Required qualifications,skills, behaviours and attributes

  • CSCS card.
  • Engineering Degree / HNC or similar in a construction discipline.
  • SSSTS desired.
  • Tunnel Safety Training Scheme (TSTS) desired but will be provided.
  • Experience with SCL or tunnel construction techniques: 02 years desired.
  • Knowledge of Amberg software
