    Our Enabling Infrastructure team under the Western and Wales sector is currently seeking to locate a career minded Design Manager/Principal Engineer with ambition to progress to Associate Director level who has gained proven work experience in the design and management of land development infrastructure and drainage solutions for development.

    Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population.

    We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

    You will be leading the infrastructure and drainage design and modelling using a variety of software and manual calculation methods.

    Project duties will include preparation of design solutions at various stages of a project; production management of drawings / BIM models, reports, specifications and estimates; You will also be working on project management duties that includes co-ordination of a wide range of discipline inputs; monitoring and protecting our client relationships; planning and programming; commercial management and presenting projects for audit.

    As a Design Manager, you have a scope to contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members, such as more junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.

    Substantial design experience gained in development infrastructure, with experience of highways, railways or other major infrastructure schemes throughout the UK.

    Some experience of overseas projects would be an advantage;
    A proven background in development infrastructure including surface water, foul water drainage, highway and utility design;
    Sound knowledge of SuDS, SfA, DMRB, and Local Authority design standards;
    Experienced in preparing initial feasibility and site appraisal studies, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver successful planning applications;
    Detailed design delivery for development led and transport infrastructure including delivery in a D&B environment.
    Expertise in software design methods such as MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD Civils3D including integration with BIM models;
    Technically competent in fundamental design principles and have ability to apply manual calculation methods where software methods are not available;
    Line management and performance management experience;
