The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) in Adult Social Care is focused on promoting independence and wellbeing for all people. We are looking for creative and forward-thinking Occupational Therapists to join us in the Maximising Independence Team-South Reablement which covers Broxtowe, Gedling, and Rushcliffe.

In many ways this is a non-traditional, broad-spectrum role for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with endless opportunities to work with people creatively, putting them at the very heart of everything we do. OTs within the reablement service will support hospital discharges and reduce the risk of hospital and care home admissions.

    The Reablement OT will

  • Use strength based approaches in the assessment of a person's functional abilities, needs and potential for independence.
  • Design and implement reablement programmes that are strength based and have clear goals that are tailored to the individual's needs.
  • Demonstrate appropriate rehabilitative techniques to people we support, carers and staff in order to maximise independence.
  • Contribute towards the supervision ,training and development of Reablement Workers , Senior Reablement Workers and Community Care Officers .
  • We would like to hear from you whether you are an experienced Occupational Therapist or newly qualified and keen to learn. You will work with people of all ages and across all service areas. To be successful, your values and creativity will be key. You will work in a multi-skilled, fast paced, and supportive team. You will receive regular supervision both formally and informally from an Occupational Therapy Senior Practitioner and will be supported to attend training to progress your career and meet the HCPC's CPD (Career Progression Development) requirements. There will be opportunities to expand your knowledge and competencies, project work and service exploration based on your strengths and career aspirations. You must have excellent communication and IT skills. You must be good at motivating others and be able to support others through change.

You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be registered with the HCPC.
