Description
Under the direction of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Operational Manager the post holder will be required to:

  • Support and work closely with the Senior Clinical Matron and Service Delivery Manager in the strategic development delivery and monitoring of performance within Care Group 1 Healthy Lives.
  • The role will support and facilitate a variety of work packages, requiring delivery within definite time scales, ensuring systems and processes are followed to achieved and deliver specific targets aligned to the Care Group and Trust Objectives.
  • Focus on achieving targets relating to specific pathways. Ensuring clinics and theatres are fully utilised, and where necessary follow protocol to increase clinical activity aligned to fluctuating capacity and demand.
  • Support the development and implementation of services and processes in key functional areas in order to ensure quality standards are embedded across the service.
  • Provide support to ensure that business cases and action plans are aligned to the business plan and respond to initiatives both internal and external to enable new and improved ways of working to support and enhance patient care.
  • Ensure effective booking/review/rescheduling aligned to gynaecology/ clinic schedules, ensuring that all clinics are fully utilised and are supported by appropriate staff. Support in the scheduling of extra clinic sessions where appropriate.
  • Being fully conversant with and adhering to all national and organisational targets for the Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways in relation to waiting lists, patient referrals, elective admissions etc.
  • Work closely with bookings teams, clinicians/trackers to ensure that Outpatient clinics and theatre sessions are fully utilised and any changes to plans are actioned /escalated appropriately.
  • As part of the Healthy Lives Care group deliver on specific tasks and functions that may arise from any external service inspections.
  • Support in the undertaking of service reviews and delivery against work programmes and key performance metrics, this will include the coordination and development of robust information and performance systems the ability to analyse complex data in collaboration with all staff to support benchmarking activities and interoperate operational performance to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Provide assistance in the production of business cases to support service development capital schemes, business proposal bids, tenders and any other reports to support the Care Group work plan.
  • Manage the department audit schedule and guideline review process in conjunction with Clinical Leads and the Quality Governance and Safety Lead.
