    We have a great opportunity to join the education team at HMP Wandsworth as a Education Hub Manager specialising in Functional Skills English, ESOL and or Functional Skills Maths offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.


    As the Hub Manager for functional skills tutors at HMP Wandsworth, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop essential skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

    This is a full-time role, 4.Monday - Thursday 8 to 5 with a 12pm finish on a Friday.

    All work takes place on site within the working hours and there is not a requirement to complete any additional work during the evening or weekends.


    The functional skills Hub Manager will lead a team of six colleagues and work withing the Education Department of approximately 30 staff.

    You will form part of the management team comprising of two other Hub Managers, the Admin Manager and the Local Education Manager.


    Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of curriculum areas and staffing in line with the Annual Delivery Plan (ADP).

    Ensure efficient and effective curriculum delivery, including deployment of resources.
    Line management of delivery colleagues.
    Ensure full compliance with data systems and protocols e.g. Accountable for quality assurance and quality improvement across curriculum areas.
    Manage resources (following allocation from the Local Education Manager) as defined within the ADP.
    Contribute to the development of a CPD plan for their team, with the Local Education Manager.
    Accountable for driving excellence in teaching and learning across curriculum areas.
    Contribute to management of any inspections including OFSTED / HMPPS reviews.
    Deputise for the Local Education Manager as and when required.
    Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
    Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
    Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism
    Managing colleagues including the deployment of those staff and appropriate delegation of tasks
    Implementing and managing continuous quality assurance and improvement procedures
    Contract compliancy and performance targets met or exceededDesirable
