We have an exciting opportunity available within our senior management compliance team, predominantly focusing on assisting in Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection areas, such as explosives safety standards, fire safety standards, emergency response requirements and environmental management.

Additionally, we will provide training where an Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection qualification is not held.

We will also provide the support for the completion of the NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ equivalent while in post.


As an Administrative Officer, you can expect a challenging, broad, and varied role which will draw on your stakeholder engagement experience, analytical and commercial skills.

The role will also pull on your communication, problem solving, decision making and management of resource skills and your strengths in working independently.


Please note that due to the nature of this position, it will require full time attendance to the stated site.

Occasionally the post will require travel to other Ministry of Defence partnering and Defence Munitions sites, depending on organisational requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external specialism requests, providing advice and guidance, escalating to more senior colleagues where appropriate.
  • Own logístical elements of activities and events such as arranging travel, booking venues, or coordinating visits.
  • Support internal communications such as updating internal websites, distributing key information, and acting as a focal point for other internal communications.
  • Provision of support for explosive licensing regime, including updating of databases, administrative support to Compliance Team members.
  • Participation in checks and inspections, including recording findings.
  • Maintenance of the compliance team's documentation, files, library, and spreadsheets.
  • Participation in site emergency response procedures.
  • Building and maintaining productive relationships with other Defence Munitions Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection personnel to develop best practice.

Person specification:


  • Minimum Maths and English GCSEs qualifications or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
