Job summary:


The Digital and Information Directorate has a wide remit, and is responsible for a comprehensive range of work, aimed directly at supporting the frontline.

There is a clear link between the Directorate's function and the ability of the CPS to meet its aims and objectives.


Critical to the delivery of this work is effective internal working relationships with the Areas, Casework Divisions and other Directorates, and successful external partnerships with criminal justice service agencies.


The directorate is fast-paced, engaging, interesting and rewarding place to work; staff have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive view of the CPS and its priorities.


Job description:


  • To provide high quality and sustained support to the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), specifically in relation to their visits, speaking commitments, correspondence and assisting in managing their workload. To act as a role model for other administrative staff ensuring that effective procedures and practices are in place in terms of diary management and administrative support. To liaise with CPS officials, other government departments and agencies as required and communicate the DLS' views effectively.

Person specification:


  • To assist in driving forward the CDIO priorities, providing quality and timely advice.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the CPS, and other government departments, and external organisations to gain a wider understanding of the context to CPS business and the role the Digital & Information Directorate.
  • Ensure that the time the CDIO has in the office is managed effectively and coordinated with the Senior Personal Assistant.
  • Develop, manage and implement a range of initiatives, and activities to support the planning and delivery of involved projects as appropriate
  • Drafting and preparing responses for the CDIO on all matters, and commissioning responses for consideration.
  • To liaise effectively and work in partnership with the Principle Private Secretary and members of the Private Office.
  • To work confidently in direct contact with Senior managers ensuring that relevant action points and/or agreed commitments have been fulfilled on time and to the standard requested.
