With a century of experience in têxtiles and related products BTTG and Shirley are the leading independent organisation for testing and certification.

BTTG specialise in the testing, certification and auditing of Personal Protective Equipment and Construction Products.

Shirley is a member of the OEKO-TEX Association and offers testing and certification to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX, MADE IN GREEN BY OEKO-TEX, STeP, DETOX TO ZERO, ECOPASSPORT, LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX plus analytical and investigation services and a member of the Expert Witness Scheme.

In essence we certify, test, audit, advise and train.


We operate in eight countries, assist clients in over 70 countries and have four laboratories in the UK along with one in India.

Our offices are located in the UK (Manchester and Leeds), Bangladesh, China, Kenya, Pakistan, Singapore, Vietnam and India.

Reporting to the PPE Customer Service Manager the main duties are:

  • Preparation and issuing of quotations to clients
  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients to ensure their needs are met
  • Performing technical review (Contract Review) of test submissions received
  • Sales Order creation using SAGE and CRM
  • Providing support to the 'Sample Logging' team involving opening of parcels and photography of samples.
  • Preparation of subcontract paperwork and purchase order requisitions
  • Performing the above tasks to meet KPI's

Key Skills:

  • Relevant Science degree or equivalent / 3 years experience in a similar technical environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to provide support to the rest of the team where necessary
  • Organisation skills and ability to prioritise, with excellent attention to detail
  • Time management skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Ideally with an interest in têxtiles
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive and selfmotivated
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word & Excel

Salary:
£24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
