You'll join a supportive, friendly and high performing team in an expanding business and have the opportunity to work directly with the front office on a wide variety of derivatives and securities financing (DSF) transactions, along with other legal projects associated with the SCIB UK businesses, in addition to working closely with our colleagues and businesses based in Madrid.

The DSF legal team directly supports the following SCIB UK units:
FIG Client Coverage; CIB Client Coverage; Risk Solutions Group (RSG); Institutional Sales; Marketing Making (including Fixed Income, FX and Short-Term Markets (STM); and Active Credit Portfolio Management (ACPM)

This role resides within Santander London Branch (Non-Ring-Fenced branch of Santander Corporate Investment Bank in the UK).

The difference you'll make.

Reviewing and drafting legal documentation related to derivatives and securities financing (DSF) transactions
Structuring, reviewing and leading on transaction documentation throughout the transaction lifecycle, from pitches, mandates and structuring term sheets to execution
Reviewing and commenting on facility agreements, bond documents, security documents, intercreditor or subordination agreements, common terms agreements, master definition agreements, confidentiality agreements, hedging letters and other documents and notices related to such DSF trading agreements and transactions
Advising on associated regulatory requirements, including any cross border implications
Providing support to the Heads of DSF Legal and SLB Legal on non-transactional matters and legal projects according to business needs
Advising on any assignment, transfer, sub-participation, financial guarantee, insurance policy or other form of risk assumption or disposal mechanism related to DSF agreements and transactions

What you'll bring.

English, US or European qualified lawyer with experience from a law firm or in-house in a financial institution
Good working knowledge of current UK regulations applicable to financial markets

It would also be nice for you to have.

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills and a high standard of drafting ability
Corporate finance/M&A advisory experience
European language skills would be an advantage
