    Medical Education are seeking to appoint a Medical Education Administrator (Postgraduate Services) to support the administration of the Foundation Training Programme: FY1/FY2 trainees who are placed at BHRUT as part of their rotational training programme. The successful postholder will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, good time management, and will be part of a friendly, supportive team, who provide an excellent service to doctors in postgraduate training and locally employed doctors. The postholder will have opportunities to learn new skills, and broaden knowledge of doctors in training post curricula, with appropriate training and support provided. The post is fulltime, however job shares will be considered along with flexible working.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will support the Medical Education Officer with a wide range of queries, both in person and via email. With problem solving, solutions focused, approach to their work, the post holder will be a collaborator, initiative-taking and confident in using their own initiative to ensure that the work of both the immediate team and that of the wider
    Medical Education team runs efficiently. The post holder will also be experienced in recognising their own limitations, knowledge and/or skills raising matters with their line manager at an early stage.

    We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

    Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

    QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

    Essential criteria

  • GCSE's or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • Desirable criteria

  • NVQ3 Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Administrative knowledge of HORUS portfolio.
  • EXPERIENCE

    Essential criteria

  • Competent IT/Word Processing Skills, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, MS Teams.
  • Recent NHS Administration experience, within the last 2 years.
