Flexible working, London
£100,000 + car allowance + bonus

Well known transport services business seeks to attract an accomplished Head of Data Architecture and Governance to join a senior leadership tasked with leading and managing the data management team.

The role will report into the Group CTO, and will be enthusiasticabout by providing quality Enterprise Data Management solutions for business customers in a challenging and diverse, multi-lingual information environment.

You will be the leader within CTO and for Data Architecture and Data Governance.

As such you will be responsible for working with senior business managers to understand their long term needs and to formulate actionable strategy, and lead your team in deliveringthe strategy by establishing the relevant architecture, developing the right skills both internally and externally and by providing appropriate Data Governance.

Key Accountabilities:

Leading data strategy and data policy
Creation of Roadmap for data domains to increase overall coverage of modelled and catalogued data
Making data related information assets easily accessible to user communities (developers and endusers)
Management of Data Architects and other resources as appropriate
Assess the system architecture currently in place and work with EA, Transform and Test teams to recommend solutions to improve it (continuous improvement of the way Solution Design is performed)
Identify risks affecting solutions, including mitigating recommendations and support in handling those risks
Data architecture modelling and cataloguing
Manage the Community of Practice for data

Knowledge, skills and experience

Expert knowledge of:

Proven experience in all aspects of data governance, including data quality management, metadata management, data architecture, data management tools and technology, trends, best practices and relevant regulation
Proven experience in all aspects of data governance, including data quality management, metadata management, data architecture, data management tools and technology, trends, best practices and relevant regulation
Management of all aspects of working with third party suppliers, including selection, relationship management, performance management and financial management
Excellent experience in developing and delivering data strategies and roadmap
Experience in developing policies and standards for governing data
Excellent knowledge of data modelling and engineering practice
Amazon Web Services
