I am currently recruiting for an Assistant SENCO to join an outstanding three form entry primary school.


As an assistant Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) you will be working alongside the SENCO to ensure that children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are properly supported in their learning.

The Assistant SENCO will work withindividual children, their parents or guardians, and other professionals to ensure that each child receives appropriate support and accommodations to meet their unique needs.

The role may also include working with teachers to create individual education plans(IEPs) and providing training to staff on how to support children with SEND.


The Assistant SENCO will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of SEND and the SEN Code of Practice.

Experience working with children with SEND is essential, as is a relevant qualification in specialeducation.

A patient, caring and positive attitude is also important, as is the ability to work collaboratively with others to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children.
