    Job Description

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Civil/Structural Designer on a PSC Contract working outside IR35. The role will be focal point position for an onshore project.

    Provide Civil / Structural Design Expertise

    Provide input to Civil/Structural and layout studies

    Define Civil/Structural design requirements for technical scopes

    Development of deliverables and documentation required for use in work packs and in the supply chain

    Support the development of and/or develop requisitions for the procurement of Civil/Structural related material and equipment

    Undertake design checking of Civil/Structural deliverables

    Provide support to the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer and the project delivery team

    Provide Civil/Structural design technical expertise to the project

    Resolve Civil/Structural related design issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards

    Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of Civil/Structural designs

    Provide support for interdisciplinary considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking

    Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of Principal Civil/Structural Designer

    Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement

    Utilize software tools in design development and checking (eg PDMS, Navisworks , E3D )

    Assess progress and associated reports and advise of any slippages, correct inefficiency and take any resulting agreed actions

    Bsc

    or

    HNC / HND in engineering or equivalent with relevant considerable experience

    Experience:

    • Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position
    • E3D experience preferred.
