Senstronics Ltd is an acknowledged leader in the design, development and production of a high stability range of pressure sensing products. We are embarking upon a significant period of growth. We are targeting an incremental increase in output of 70% in the next - 5 years. To support this growth initiative, we have constructed a capital expenditure plan of approximately £8m to be invested into new manufacturing and processing equipment across 2 production units. To support this plan we need a Production Supervisor to lead the teams of operators in Unit 2 and align production output with growth targets, whilst championing an agenda of continuous improvement.


Job Purpose:


Lead and develop the team leaders to support their production operators (3 shift system) to fulfil operational requirements with competency and diligence.


Main duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage and coordinate the operational infrastructure in Unit 2 Cleanroom to meet production requirements.
  • Effectively maintain safety, quality, service, cost and productivity performance to ensure all targets are met.
  • Oversee the checking of the quality of components manufactured through inspection.
  • Develop and implement production policies and procedures.
  • Manage team performance via coaching, support and the use of formal procedures where necessary.
  • Liaise with Training Coordinator to identify training needs and support development.
  • Identify and undertake continuous improvement activities and support initiatives to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide support on all production processes and address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct frequent team brief/shift meetings with Team Leaders covering health & safety, quality, absence, targets and cost.
  • Always maintain accurate inventory of all products.
  • Collect and analyse production data and produce reports as required, sharing information with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as requested.
  • Advocate the Core Values and demonstrate associated behaviours.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager and other departments to improve overall output.

Other duties:


  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, as required.
  • Previous Production Leader / Management Experience within high volume manufacturing, FMCG or Tier 1 Automotive.
  • A good understanding of lean practices such as 5S, 5Why, TPM.
  • Ability to maintain high standards in high pressure situations.
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging environments.
  • The ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels.
  • High level of numerical and analytical ability.
  • Experience of manufacturing to high quality standards.
  • Experience of Lean Management Techniques/ Kaizen.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • A confident approach to decisionmaking.
  • Experience of working in clean room environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement and change management process and procedure.
  • Highly effective people management skills.
