    Engineering @ 365 are currently working witha special purpose machinery manufacturerbased in Leicesterwho are recruiting for a Lead Control Engineeron apermanent basis.

    Job Description:

    As the Lead Controls Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our client's engineering efforts, leading the design, development, and implementation of control systems for their special purpose machinery. Leveraging your expertise in Allen Bradley and Rockwell programming platforms, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and functionality of our client's machinery, while also providing technical leadership and guidance to the wider engineering team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The design and development of control systems for special purpose machinery, including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and motion control programming.
    • Allen Bradley and Rockwell programming platforms to develop custom control solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each project.
    • Closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate control systems with mechanical components and electrical systems.
    • Technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, including mentoring junior engineers and overseeing project timelines and deliverables.
    • Thorough testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • The commissioning and startup of machinery at client sites, including troubleshooting control system issues and providing technical support to onsite technicians and engineers.
    • Updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in control engineering, and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into engineering processes.

    Requirements:

    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience working as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
    • Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Rockwell programming platforms, including PLC programming (RSLogix), HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk), and motion control programming (MotionWorks).
    • Designing and programming custom control solutions for special purpose machinery, including knowledge of servo systems, robotics, and vision systems.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
    • Communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
