We are looking to expand our Cyber, Data and Information Law (CDIL) team with an ambitious and highly motivated Senior Data Protection Practitioner to support the significant increased demand we are seeing for our services.


Experienced and successful in this dynamic area of law and with a proven track record, you will be keen to develop your skills further in a testing but stimulating position that will give you the opportunity to achieve results and develop your career in all aspects of information law and practice.


About the role*The CDIL team are known for their common-sense, practical advice and regularly represent clients who are being investigated by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and other regulatory authorities.

They advise a broad mix of private, public and charity sector clients on a wide range of CDIL issues, including data protection, privacy, electronic communications and marketing and cyber security and breach management.


Reporting to the CDIL Team Leader, this role will support businesses in successfully navigating the UK's complex data protection landscape.


Key areas of responsibility will include:
Providing GDPR, DPA & PECR (e-Privacy) consultancy

  • Providing data protection training
  • Dataflow mapping and developing Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs)
  • Advising on and undertaking DPIAs and other datarelated risk assessments
  • Providing DPO services
  • Giving information security advice
  • Undertaking compliance reviews and audits


You will also work with forensic experts, counsel and other specialists as a key member of rradar's Crisis Management Team, providing rapid data breach and cyber-attack support to our clients.


You will be instrumental in the future development of our private service offering in CDIL, moving beyond legal and regulatory advice to provide practical guidance for clients implementing new privacy initiatives, supporting change programmes or assisting in process improvements.

The role will also include elements of business development as we expand our client base further.

This is a full-time, permanent position, located at one of our 5 office locations, with travel expected between our offices and to meet clients or undertake work on clients' premises.

A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is therefore essential.

You*over three years' post-qualification experience or three years or more experience in data protection, information security or similar compliance roles;
- a relevant qualification in data protection, information security or compliance (e.g. CIPP/E, Data Protection Certificate, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor);
- previous experience in either consultancy services, managing in-house data protection and compliance programmes or provision of legal and regulatory advice
