MJK People are delighted to be recruiting for a full time Accounts Assistant to work in a well established successful business based in Sunderland.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of accounts from a variety of client's systems
  • Sage, Xero, QuickBooks etc
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations
  • Actioning queries raised by accounts and tax managers on the accounts and working papers prepared
  • Finalisation of the accounts following client meetings
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries
  • Assisting on audit assignments
  • Mentoring of junior members of the team
  • Preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Be AAT Level 4 qualified or nearing completion of Level 4 or be qualified by experience
  • Ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in an accounting practice
  • Experience of preparation of year end accounts for ownermanaged small to medium business including sole traders, partnerships and limited Companies
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • Be driven and proactive, ensuring that our commitment to providing excellent service levels to our clients is met.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software packages such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc. would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Keen to take on additional responsibilities and ambition to progress to more senior roles within the firm.

From £22,000.00 per year
