    Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Authorising Engineer within the Plant team.

    This role will be based on site in locations around Kingsbury and Lichfield Northern most section of IPT Area North with 16.3km of rural high-speed line to the east of Lichfield and runs North of Curdworth for approximately 13km, through a mainly rural landscape between Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth finishing at Rookery Wood.

    Role description:

    To advise on detailed electrical matters to BBV, to be the Authorising Engineer for the operation and management of BBV Electrical Safety Procedures which describe the operational Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW), assessing, appointing, and auditing persons to operate them.

    Experienced required

    • Be, as a minimum, registered as an Approved Electrician.
    • Be working towards IEng registration.
    • Have suitable and sufficient professional experience as determined by the Electrical Function Coordinator.
    • Have successfully completed and passed the appropriate tuition and training appropriate to AEs and APs as defined by the Electrical Function Coordinator.

    • 42 viaducts totalling over 11km
    • 66 overbridges
    • More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
    • 56 culverts
    • 66 embankments reaching over 33km
    • Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
    • Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
