Financial Accountant, up to £60k DOE,office only, Portsmouth


We're looking for a technically strong accountant with relevant experience in a multi-company group who can consolidate the numbers and present accurate, timely reports to the Group Financial Controller.

Although we're using Sage right now, the plan is to quickly migrate to a another software system.

Experience of other ERP systems would be useful and this role will be key in the implementation and development of that new package.


The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensure the financial reports are completed in line with relevant Accounting Standards
  • Completion of the monthly management accounts for review
  • Completion of the year end Statutory Accounts
  • Management of the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Payroll functions
  • Overall management and reconciliation of the monthly Group balance sheets
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset registers
  • The accuracy and integrity of the group companies' ledgers
  • Provision of Stock reporting
  • Maintain the financial governance and policies ensuring they are relevant and up to date
  • Processing and accuracy of statutory tax payments (PAYE/NIC/VAT/Corporation tax)
  • Ensure Revenues are reported in line with IFRS 1
  • Daily reconciliation of the bank accounts to the finance system/s for all group entities
  • Processing of supplier payment runs
  • Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Experienced in a similar role
