We have opportunities for an enthusiastic anaesthetist to join our vibrant and growing department.

This post has arisen due to expansion of services and replacement sessions for trust, university, and external roles that members of our team have taken on.

Essential criteria:


Full registration with the GMC, GRCA or equivalent; current General Medical Council (London), Specialist Registration in Anaesthesia or equivalent experience.

Applicants who are within six months of obtaining CCT may apply

Able to start within 3 months of interview.

University College Hospital is a major teaching hospital with twenty six operating theatres.

It is a regional cancer centre and tertiary referral centre, with particular expertise in bariatrics, upper and lower GI, orthopaedics, urology, head and neck, paediatric, thoracic and endocrine surgery.

The labour ward delivers 6000 women a year and has a special interest in high risk medical patients including GUCH.

A regional block room provides high quality analgesia and is a hub for education and research.

Our newest hospital - Grafton way Building has opened with a Proton Beam service and eight theatres.

The hospital is committed to developing and delivering an individualised perioperative medicine package for all its patients. Our aim is excellence in clinical care, teaching and training and in research.

There will be an on-call commitment and / or weekend work for anaesthesia services.
