The IT EUC Engineer role is to provide reliable and efficient support for the Trust's network and IT infrastructure, maintaining all operational activities of the technical infrastructure environment and the associated services as they are provided to the Trust across all sites.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide technical expertise within the deployment, configuration and asset management of the Trust's 3000+ devices including identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technologysolutions for all aspects of the Trust and its customers. Work closely with other members within the team and department, troubleshooting issues and working on complex projects across all Trust locations. This is a customer facing role, including face-to-face, spoken, and written communication. You will also need to attend and lead in business meetings, liaising with internal departments and external companies providing a high-quality customer & professional service at all times.

    This role will be expected to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota and planned maintenance activities outside of core office hours as required by the business, covering the main hospital site and offsites.

    Job responsibilities

    Responsible for implementing and maintaining all end user devices, solutions, and infrastructure to ensure the IT operational services are available to the Trusts users, including:

  • Maintaining of the Trusts IT assets (both hardware and software) and records
  • Participating in cyber prevention and use of protection technologies
  • Office 365 NHS Shared Tenant managing users, licences, etc.
  • Clinical Applications including Mobile Applications
  • Network (Ethernet & Wi-Fi)
  • All network and Infrastructure systems/equipment hosted locally and offsite.
  • Infrastructure support and associated systems
  • Virtual Server environment
  • Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Service Availability
  • Responsible for completing all assigned tickets within the ServiceDesk system (diagnosing and resolving faults) in line with service level agreements and escalating any likely breaches.
  • Participate in system updates and upgrades with minimal impact on the production environment as instructed by the Change Management Team
  • Responsible for creation of and maintaining of install and configuration guides.
  • Providing specialist knowledge and expertise to the business to help deliver business objectives, including directly liaising with clinical staff.
  • Safeguard Trust Data and participate in the secure disposal of data storage devices.
  • Take part in IT Auditing and provide direct or indirect input.
  • Travel to off-sites to attend meetings, resolve issues that fall under the EUC area of responsibility
