    Senior Java Engineer

    Hybrid - London

    £75-90,000 base with bonus

    Eames consulting are delighted to be working with an established bank that are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join the evolving team where you will be designing and developing high performing scalable Java systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable Java-based applications.
    • Collaborate with product management and development teams to define and implement technical solutions that meet business objectives.
    • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and design patterns.
    • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
    • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and other technical issues.
    • Troubleshoot and debug complex software problems and provide timely solutions.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance and user experience.
    • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
    • Strong proficiency in Java, with a good understanding of its ecosystem.
    • Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, etc.) and Hibernate.
    • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
    • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
    • Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
    • Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
