Do you have administration experience within a school environment? Support Harris Academy Bermondsey in the smooth running of our administration office and wider academy.

We are looking for a Admin Officer to work within our Admin Office, undertaking reception and other administrative duties.

HAB teachers and support staff are uncompromising and caring in achieving this.


Main Areas of Responsibility Organisation**- Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors, dealing with parental and visitor enquiries and supporting student enquiries.

  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.
  • Assist in arrangements for school trips, events etc.

Administration

  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems.
  • Produce lists/information/data as required, e.g. pupils' data.
  • Undertake typing, word processing and other IT based tasks.
  • Take notes at meetings.
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Undertake administrative procedures.
  • Maintain and collate pupil reports.
  • Undertake routing administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises.
  • Provide timely and effective operation of secretarial and administrative support to the line manager.
  • Assist the Academy by maintaining good relationships with staff, parents, governors, contractors, representatives and external agencies in order to promote the objectives of the School.
  • Clerk the governing body meetings, preparing agendas, papers and minutes and keeping records as required.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be requested by the line manager

Other Duties

  • Be involved in Academy duties.
  • Be involved in trips and educational visits.
  • Be aware of and comply with Academy policies and legal requirements.
  • Be a role model the Academy's value.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos of the Academy and be committed to helping students access learning.
  • Engage actively in the Academy's performance management system;
  • Participate in inservice training as appropriate and commit to your own continuous professional development.

Experience

  • Delivering a highquality service
  • Range of general administrative duties
  • Good ICT skills and experience, including Word, Excel, and management information systems
  • Working with children of relevant age

  • Good standard of general education, including literacy and numeracy skills
