Job summary
We have an exciting new substantive 10 PA post in Haematology with an Interest in Haemostasis and Thrombosis at successful candidate will lead the UCLH Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) service, providing support in expanding the service, including inpatient and outpatient pathways. The successful applicant will also support other areas of haemostasis and thrombosis, including clinical support for the regional TTP/TMA service, the largest UK centre. The post holder would have the opportunity to develop sub-specialty interests in liaison with the existing consultants. The on-call commitment will be to assist in the TTP/TMA and haemostasis and thrombosis services. This would involve inpatient management and on call referrals and advice involving UCLH patients and tertiary referrals.
Applicants should have a special interest in Haemostasis and Thrombosis and preferably a higher medical degree in this or a related appointee would be expected to support research within areas identified and develop their own particular area of interest. Collaboration with other investigators is encouraged.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of a haematology team, including five other consultants within the haemostasis and thrombosis department. There is also a 10 bedded ITU on the new haemostasis and thrombosis, there are a number of specialist clinics, including: TTP, ITP, General Thrombosis/Cancer Thrombosis clinics, Obstetric Haematology and haemostasis clinics.
