The role is to work alongside and assist the Quality Inspector to carrying out quality Inspection to company and ISO 9001 Standards and specific customer requirements.

Ensure reports and Job Packs are completed to meet the requirements. This will include Process Stage quality checks and liaising with Department Supervisors and the Compliance/Quality Teams.


Role & Key Responsibilities:


  • Carry out dimensional and visual inspections during the production process and on final inspection
  • Perform quality inspection and pre work requirements on work inprogress and finished products including First Article Inspections and Initial Sample Inspections
  • Support the Quality Inspector to perform quality inspection and pre work requirements on work inprogress and finished products. You will ensure the appropriate procedures, standards and specifications are being adhered to as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements
  • Communicate all inspection reports with the Quality Inspector and Supervisors responsible for the areas being inspected and report any nonconformances in line with the Company NCR process identified
  • Meet Inspection targets set to improve company efficiencies and reduce nonconformance in line with the Company KPI targets
  • Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements
  • Assist with root cause analysis and problemsolving activities on the shop floor
  • Effectively use various measuring equipment to inspect machined components
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is maintained in line with the calibration system, and report any failed equipment to the Quality Inspector management
  • Observe the methods and equipment the manufacturing employees use during production and support the Quality Inspector in giving their line manager feedback to correct errors and increase efficiency
  • Attend Department meetings
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:


  • An understanding/ability to read, interpret and work directly from engineering drawings essential
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (desirable in a fabrication environment)
  • An understanding of quality inspection experience preferable but as this is a training role, you will be working closely with the Quality Inspector
  • An understanding of engineer, fabrication, laser and paint / finish production methods/process desirable
  • An understanding of ISO Standards, in particular ISO 9001 desirable
  • An understanding of QMS and Quality documentation desirable, including First Article Inspections, Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIRs) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • An understanding of Calibration and use of measurement tools such as tapes, squares, micro meters, verniers desirable
  • An understanding of industry standards in relation to finishes and acceptable tolerances desirable
  • Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy and a commitment to quality
