    We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our supportive and friendly team based at The Den our purpose built children's centre at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

    The team provides Specialist Physiotherapy Services to children with Neurodevelopmental conditions, age 0-18 years, across North Derbyshire.

    The role is predominantly clinic based but you will gain experience across a range of clinical areas.

    You will assist with hydrotherapy and CPIP's clinics and support audit and patient feedback projects.


    This post would be ideal for a Physiotherapist with previous pre or post graduate experience of working with children and a passion for working with children and their families.

    To work as part of the children's physiotherapy team to provide assessment, treatment and therapy advice to children and young people with physical disabilities in a variety of settings.

    To be responsible for the management of a designated caseload under the supervision and mentoring of a senior clinician.

    To work with all disciplines and agencies involved with the child and family.

    To participate in continual professional development, in-service training, clinical audit and service development.

    To work as part of the Childrens Physiotherapy service to provide assessment, treatment and therapy advice to children and young people with physical disabilities

    To be responsible for the management of a designated caseload under the supervision and mentoring of a senior clinician.

    To work in outpatient clinic settings but undertake home, nursery and school visits if required
    To assist in the delivery of group therapy sessions
    To assist senior colleagues with Physiotherapy interventions in Special Schools if required

    To work collaboratively with multiagency colleagues and other professionals within and beyond the trust to provide co-ordinate care to best meet the needs of the child.

    To present a professional image and to promote a positive image of the Trust to service users, carers and the community as a whole.


    oRecognised degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
    oExperience of working with children at pre or postgraduate level

    oUnderstanding of the principles of Physiotherapy treatment when working with children and young people who have a physical disability.

    oUnderstanding of the principles of child development.
    oAble to demonstrate empathy and insight into the needs of the disabled child and their families

    oClinical assessment and treatment planning skills relevant to children
