    Job Description:

    As a Sustainability and Retrofit Architect, you will play a pivotal role in leading assessments and designs, focusing on both retrofit and new construction projects. With a keen interest in sustainable architecture and a background in working with UK-based consultancies or architectural firms, you will bring invaluable expertise to the multidisciplinary team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Decarbonisation Assessments and Designs:
    • Lead the development and implementation of decarbonisation strategies for residential and non-domestic buildings.
    • Conduct detailed assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and carbon reduction in existing structures.
    • Collaborate with the architectural team to integrate sustainable design principles into both retrofit and new construction projects.
    1. Support to Architectural Projects:
    • Provide technical support and expertise to the main architectural team, contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
    • Offer insights and recommendations on sustainable building materials, energy-efficient systems, and green building certifications.
    1. Business Development:
    • Identify and cultivate new commercial opportunities aligned with our sustainability objectives.
    • Collaborate with other engineers within the multidisciplinary environment to leverage expertise and deliver holistic solutions to clients.

    Day-to-Day Activities:

    • Lead the design and implementation of retrofit projects, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop tailored decarbonization strategies.
    • Conduct site visits and surveys to assess building performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainable architecture and retrofitting.

    Work Location:

    • Office Presence: You will be required to work from the office for a minimum of 2 days a week to facilitate collaboration and team interaction.
    • Location Preference: While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates residing in or near London for easier access to the office and project sites.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • RIBA accredited Part 2 onwards, with a strong focus on sustainable design and retrofit.
    • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working within the UK for consultancies or architectural firms.
    • Familiarity with relevant building regulations, energy performance standards, and green building certifications.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
