JOB SUMMARY


As a vital element of the Civic Campus build team, the Senior Cost Consultant will be required to collaborate closely with the Civic Campus Build Director.

For a significant listed building renovation project, the position will offer client-side professional advice, support, technical quality assurance, and quantity surveying services.


JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • To be responsible for the performance of all employees they directly or indirectly supervise. They must also make sure that sufficient procedures are in place for hiring, training, supervising, appraising, and developing employees.
  • Reviewing incoming and outgoing constructionrelated cost data that the Council and outside consultants have provided for quality control.
  • Giving clients, stakeholders, and other technical team members technical and advisory help.
  • Gap analyses and cost studies of the project documents that external quantity surveyors and/or other building consultants have received.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • A solid knowledge and grasp of public sector construction project prices, designs, and larger delivery challenges.
  • A degree in quantity surveying or a comparable construction qualification ( or 10 years relevant experience).
  • A chartered surveyor who is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has at least five years' worth of building surveying expertise.
  • Substantial project delivery experience for mediumsized to large, complex projects to build, renovate, adapt, and maintain public sector real estate.
