WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR is searching for a new Propulsion Software Product Group Owner to join our team. In this role you will have responsibility, with your group, for delivering the JLR in-house software that sits at the heart of our innovative vehicles. Working with a highly engaged team of control system, calibration and test engineers, you will deliver state of the art features and capabilities to ensure our next generation of Battery Electric Vehicles are class leading, extremely desirable and perform against the highest standards of quality and safety.

As a technical Product Group Owner, you will lead the squads responsible for the development of this product and you will work cross functionally with adjacent groups, all engaged with the common goal of delivering our propulsion system.

You will support escalation topics with your technical knowledge and expertise. In addition to this, you will be using your technical capabilities to lead the team in problem solving and resolution when issues occur.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Responsible for delivery, through your group, of the supervisory control architecture, software and calibration of Battery Electric Vehicles.

Project tracking and escalation using JLR Metrics (JIRA, AIMS, RMDV, ITP, DV tracking – training will be provided for systems as required)

Driving common process across the team to support the process compliance and integration activity.

Support Chapter Leads with people development actions and plans to ensure the Group can deliver effectively

Alignment with related groups across the JLR Engineering and wider organisation

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

As a Propsulsion Software Group Product Owner, you will lead the team technically, so having experience in model based development with tools such as MATLAB / Simulink, as well in real time control systems will be important.

Arriving with a knowledge of propulsion systems would be advantageous, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with experience in related industries where safety critical real time control is also required.

Essential:

Experience in delivery of production real time, safety critical control.

Experienced in project delivery throughout entire lifecycle.

Proven team leadership and management skills

Experience in software project leadership experience

Ability to work, and enjoy working, under demanding programme and business constraints.
