Techni are a Design, Manufacture and Distribution company based in Shrewsbury, who distribute globally through our international companies in the UK, Spain, and the USA.


Due to the ever-growing nature of Techni, an opportunity has arisen within the Supply Chain Team for a Senior Supply Chain Coordinator, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.


The overall objective of this new role is to assist in the management of systems and procedures relating to all aspects of direct purchasing.

The Senior Supply Chain Coordinator will be a supportive leader, and be expected to assist the Purchasing Team with daily execution of tasks as required - this could stem from an influx of demand requiring overflow PO support, or opportunities to support the professional development of our Purchasers.

You need to have a solid understanding of stock control, inventory management, BOMs, WO demand, and customer demand. You need to have a good understanding of price breaks, buying power, and how to successfully negotiate with suppliers. Ideally you will be a strategic thinker, and have leadership experience.


Role Purpose:

As a senior member of the Supply Chain process, you will be responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Manager in day-to-day operations of the supply chain for the Purchasing team.

To oversee the procurement of stock, in line with demand and quality standards.

With the support of the Purchasing team, you will be responsible for ensuring correct levels of stock are held; that stock is purchased at the correct price and delivered at the correct time; and that customer orders and internal works orders are able to be fulfilled on time.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities include but not limited to:

  • Analyse trends and historic data to accurately forecast Purchase Orders
  • Support the Purchasing team in reviewing stock levels for UK, EU and ROW suppliers, and acting on stock shortages
  • Review and approve purchase orders for the Purchasing team, ensuring that they are in line with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure availability of parts and all BOM items for planned jobs
  • Handle supplier delays carefully, sourcing alternatives where required
  • Handle any delivery discrepancies with efficiency
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, including negotiating contracts including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms
  • Recommend new suppliers, and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure all terms are met
  • Analyse costs of stock, and recommend ways to reduce expenses by identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Support the Production team with stock requirements for our US division
  • Support the Purchasing team in reviewing part quotes, and supplier negotiation
  • Closely manage new part requirements in relation to new kits, van conversions, and R&D projects
  • Continuously review quality to ensure the company standards are met at all times
  • Analyse trends and adapt where necessary to meet customer and company objectives
  • Advise on schedule trends and propose changes as necessary to meet both the Customer requirements and the company's objectives with regard to efficiency
  • Be an integral part of the Continuous Improvement process across the department
  • Review processes, and propose new procedures (or changes to current procedures) to improve efficiency, productivity, and OTIF _(Requiring Sign off by Supply Chain Manager)_
  • Prepare reports on expenditures and analyse trends in spending to identify areas of potential waste
  • Issue monthly reports to the Supply Chain Manager detailing achievement against schedule and results of monthly activities
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager

Required Skills:


  • Previous purchasing experience essential ideally at a senior level (but not essential)
  • Excellent timemanagement skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Fastpaced, able to understand and act on the urgency of stock delays/shortages

Salary:
£28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
