Description

The Liverpool University NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) was created in 2019, after successful merger of the Royal Liverpool and Aintree Hospitals.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint 2 trainees in their final year training or post CCT, to undertake a 12-month fellowship in either gastrointestinal (GI) or genitourinary (GU) imaging.

The posts will be full time and be based at the Royal Liverpool, Broadgreen and York Centre sites at LUHFT.

The GI fellow would be exposed to all aspects of gastrointestinal imaging including MR and CT small bowel imaging, MR proctography, CT colonography, hepatic and pancreatic imaging, contrast and endo-anal ultrasound, fluoroscopy and PET CT as well as exposure to endoscopic imaging interpretation.

The department performs interventional oncology treatments with associated diagnostic work-up and follow-up imaging.

We provide specialist regional MDTs for upper and lower gastrointestinal tract malignancy, pancreas, liver and neuro-endocrine tumours.

The GU fellow would have the opportunity to focus on urological imaging alone or to combine this with gynaecological imaging.

We host the weekly regional specialist urology and testicular cancer and adrenal MDT meetings. Other MDTs include renovascular, renal transplant and urological stone MDT meetings.

We also provide cover for tertiary MDTs in gynaecological oncology and pelvic exenteration as well as pelvic floor, endometriosis and benign gynaecology MDTs.

There is no on call requirement for either position.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
