Job Title:
Governance and Corporate Assurance Officer


Department:

Responsible to:
Senior Data and Analytics Officer


Job Purpose:
To provide support and assistance to the sections of the Corporate
Assurance Department responsible for quality systems, governance, compliance, research, communication, benchmarking, performance monitoring, Subject Access Requests and Section 75 Equality and contribute to the professional delivery of Corporate Services, in line with
Association's business plan.


1.0 Best Practice and Continuous Improvement

1.1 Participate in the research, development and review of policies, processes and business systems ensuring the knowledge and learning is shared within the team for continuous development and to drive improvements.


1.2 Provide advice and guidance to Directorates in relation to quality systems and ensure compliance with organisational, legislative and best practice requirements.

1.3 Assist in managing the preparation and review of performance measures in completion of the monthly performance scorecard.


1.4 Provide assistance, advice and coaching across the business on aspects of quality, policy and practice within the Association's Single Quality Strategy.

1.5 Assist the Corporate Services Directorate to ensure the overall efficiency of the
Directorate by positively promoting all aspects of the service, including, quality initiatives; continuous improvement initiatives and training as required.

1.6 Report on quality metrics, reviewing trend analysis and flagging issues to management.

1.7 Identify opportunities for continual improvement and benchmarking against a range of comparator organisations.

1.8 Continually review and maintain the business improvement tools used by Corporate
Assurance.

1.9 Manage and support staff across the Association to respond appropriately to received Subject Access Requests.

1.10 Provide direction and support to all colleagues across the Association.
1.11 Carry out regular audits of the key business performance areas and ensure performance is maintained and improved.
1.12 Handle confidential and commercial information with discretion and in accordance with data protection legislation.
1.13 Correlate and produce business information and maintain systems and processes for effective performance, monitoring, reporting and audit.


2.0 Quality Framework

2.1 Support directorates to audit all existing quality systems and ensure compliance with relevant standards e.g., ISO, Customer Service Excellence, House mark etc.

2.2 Co-ordinate the identification and research of areas of best practice, suggesting options and new processes, procedures and policies as and when required.


2.3 Prepare and distribute accurate and well-presented reports and provide colleagues with information to assist in the delivery of effective business services.

2.4 Prepare action plans to deliver the Association's quality strategies and in line with the annual business plan.


2.5 Manage the production of quality support documentation for processes and systems using the H&S and risk standards and regulations.

2.6 Prepare and deliver presentations on audit reports as required.


3.0 Quality and Continuous Improvement
3.1 Support additional compliance activities across the Association to include ISO9001 activities as required, including participating in external quality audits in support of
ISO certification.

3.2 Support the management of QMS documentation.
3.3 Develop and implement information governance standards and support compliance with current legislation, including providing advice on information issues.
3.4 Promote a Data Governance Strategy and supporting Policies, ensuring buy-in across a large scale and diverse organisation.

3.5 Maintain a record of all data protection and equality policies and procedures as well as acting as the central point for coordinating updates and amendments.

3.6 Participate in the research, development and review of policies, processes and business systems ensuring the knowledge and learning is shared within the team for continuous development and to drive improvements.


3.7 Report on quality metrics, reviewing trend analysis and flagging issues to management and proposing preventative actions in order to reduce future risk to the Association.

3.8 Conduct assessments to monitor the implementation and effectiveness of data protection controls across the business.

3.9 Identify opportunities for continual improvement and benchmark against a range of comparator organisations.

3.10 Prepare and deliver presentations on audit reports as required.


4.0 Equality and Diversity
4.1 Ensure compliance with Section 75 Equality and Good Relations duties and obligations as identified in the Equality Scheme, and in compliance with the
Associations Equality Policy.
