Head of Procurement

Location:
Hybrid - 3 days per week in the RICS London or Birmingham Office

Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Procurement professional to lead our strategic procurement team here at RICS.

You will work closely with key stakeholders and senior management within IT, Digital, Facilities, HR, Finance, Marketing amongst other divisions to develop and deliver a clear written Procurement strategy and sourcing plans.


You will continuously look to develop group procurement across all spend categories including contract management, devising sourcing plans, embedding policy, and ensuring procurement is aligned with overall business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Increase the presence and impact of the procurement function across the business, through strong stakeholder engagement
  • Coach key stakeholders to understand the procurement lifecycle and roles and responsibilities at each stage to ensure an integrated approach to procurement across the business
  • Ensure data analysis, forecasting and contractual KPI performance measurement is routinely reported and acted upon
  • Implement Supplier Relationship Management as an effective and efficient process, ensuring compliance with all policies, minimum standards, and governance/risk mechanisms
  • Lead cost management exercises to identify waste, reduce risk and drive savings in external costs
  • Act as the procurement lead on the Business Transformation Board outcomes to ensure full alignment and demand challenge new procurement activity that falls outside of plans
  • Working with the PMO, ensure all approved projects are contained in a formally managed New Product Master Plan aligned to the procurement strategy and supplier selection process
  • Draft and challenge SoW's ensuring milestones are clear and value for money achieved

Experience / Skills Required

  • Extensive and proven track record of leading and developing the procurement function within a global business and recent, handson procurement project experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholders/senior business managers from various divisions across a matrix organisation
  • MCIPS qualified
