    P1 Recruitment is working with a UK-based organisation made up of a portfolio of businesses. This opportunity sits with the organisation's Group IT function which supports this complex portfolio of businesses in the UK and Ireland. Group IT provides reliable and efficient applications that underpin operations for multiple businesses across several verticals in the B2B and B2C space.

    The Application Portfolio Manager will be accountable for leading, developing and maintaining the technical and architectural documentation related to the organisation's application portfolio. After many years of development across multiple systems, we are looking for an Application Specialist to make sense of our Client's application estate, establish standards, and develop the documentation necessary to ensure that application lifecycle management is established as a discipline, applications are appropriately owned by key stakeholders, and risk is reduced during times of change.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the application solutions and their interfaces
  • Prioritise, develop and maintain appropriate documentation relating to the key systems
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure they understand the value of application lifecycle management and the need for clear and detailed documentation
  • Accountabilities:

  • Support the Application Development initiatives and Application Management lifecycle applicable to project delivery across the organisation.
  • Advise the application stakeholders on the levels of documentation required.
  • Hold stakeholders and vendors accountable for producing adequate documentation about change and new implementations.
  • Support project management and development initiatives to evolve application ability to meet business requirements through features or new releases.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to improve the onboarding and efficiency of new application services.
  • Skills and Competences:

  • Relevant experience in Application Portfolio Management.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, detailed information in a tool of your choosing.
  • Ability to work under pressure with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Work to a high standard with attention to detail, thoroughness, and a methodical approach to meet business requirements promptly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Proactive – Ability to lead on new initiatives to help implement new services and recommend and suggest improvements to service.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to work on your own.
  • Effective coordination skills – able to prioritise and execute competing activities.
  • Experience in delivering successful tasks and project-orientated activities.
