This Is A Full-Time Role Based In Our London Office For An Individual With Strong Analytical, Numerical/Statistical, Scientific, Or Civil/Structural Engineering Background To Join The Strategic Risk Consulting Team (Part Of Risk & Analytics) At WTW As ALead Associate For Climate And Catastrophe Risk Impact Assessments.

Apart From Participating In Consulting Projects This Senior Role Will Also Have Responsibility To Develop Relationships With Clients And Prospects, As Well As A Target For New Business Development(Project Sales).


The Role

  • Responsible To Work In NatCat And Climate Risk Consulting Projects.
  • Support Wider Team On A Wide Range Of Consulting Projects Involving The Undertaking Of Climate Change Risk Assessments, Catastrophe Risk Modelling And Catastrophe Risk Engineering Assessments, Including Presentation Of Findings To Internal And ExternalClients.
  • The Role Would Also Include Helping To Prepare And Present Output Data From The Climate And Nat Cat Models To Support Actuarial Analyses And Wider Risk & Analytics Consulting Projects.

The Requirements

  • Highly Motivated Team Player And Able To Thrive In A Growing Consultancy Team Environment.
  • In Depth Understanding Of The Climate And Catastrophe Risk Consulting Arena
  • Good Client-Facing / Presentation Skills
  • Strong Analytical, Engineering, Construction, Science And/Or Mathematical-Based Background With Interest In Natural Hazard And Climate Risk (Including Earthquake, Wind And Flood).
  • Climate Scientist, Practical Knowledge, And Experience Of Addressing Climate Change Considerations, Resilience And Adaptation, And Climate Scenario Modelling And Analysis.
  • Where Possible, Experience In Using Third Party Climate Or Catastrophe Models Such As RMS, AIR, RQE, KatRisk Or At Least A Good Level Of Understanding Of Probabilistic And Catastrophe Modelling Concepts.
  • Day To Day Tasks Will Include Climate Risk And Catastrophe Risk Assessments, Data Quality Assessment Of Raw Data To Be Fed Into Catastrophe Models, Reviews Of Exposures To Natural Hazards As Well As Preparation Of Modelling Input Files, Running Of MarketRecognized Models Such As RMS And The Review, Interpretation, And Validation Of The Output In Light Of Underlying Modelling Assumptions And Their Limitations In Respect To Retail Projects.
  • An Understanding Of Global Climate Change Science And International Decarbonization Scenarios As Well As Best Practice Approaches To Risk Assessment And Quantification Would Be Preferable.
  • Working Knowledge Of The TCFD And Associated Frameworks
  • Strongly Preferred, But Not Essential. Good Understanding Of The Climate Change Related Regulatory Landscape And Taxonomy Such As TCFD, IPCC As Well As Latest Developments In ESG
