    Commercial Manager

    About us:

    Global Commissioning Limited is a privately owned consultancy, with our Head Office based in Whitstable, Kent. Specialising in the data centre industry, we offer commissioning management and validation services to project developers and operators, ensuring they receive a full operational and design compliant building at handover.

    We are a growing company, and currently operate in 14 countries across Europe, and have active offices in Germany, Poland, Finland, Italy, and the Netherlands.

    The Role:

    Job Type: Full -time

    Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)

    Location: Based at our Head Office in Whitstable with some travel to Europe

    Travel Requirement:

    • This role involves regular travel across the EU, either on a 5 days on / 2 days off rotation or a 10 days on/ 4 days off rotation, depending on client requirements
    • This position is open to UK and EU nationals
    • The Company will arrange and cover all costs associated with the visa application process

    Job Overview:

    The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of our projects and will be responsible for managing and optimising all aspects of the commercial process, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial management, excellent negotiation skills, and deep understanding of the industry.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Contract Management

    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
    • Manage contract variations and amendments to meet changing project needs

    Financial Analysis

    • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision making and pricing strategies
    • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, providing regular reports to stakeholders
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue optimisation strategies

    Client Relationship Management

    • Grow and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations
    • Address client concerns and issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

    Bid Management

    • Lead the commercial aspects of the bid process, from initial tendering to contract award
    • Work closely with Senior Leadership to develop competitive bids
    • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform pricing strategies

    Risk Management

    • Identify and assess commercial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation plans
    • Collaborate with project teams to implement risk management strategies effectively

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Educated to degree level or relevant experience/qualification within a commercial role
    • A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness
    • Previous experience of working within a similar Commercial role
    • Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures
    • Computer literate including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Excellent numerical and communication skills
