Full-time, 18 Month Apprenticeship

Salary:
£11,830

Position Details:

Day shift 09:00 16:30 Monday to Thursday

09:00 - 13:30 Friday

Fulltime, 32.5 hours basic per week
Enrollment August 2023

What will the apprentice be doing?
A full range of manufacturing processes, gaining knowledge both on the job and in the classroom.

Supported by experienced Manufacturing Technicians, areas covered will include:

Interpreting Manufacturing Drawings
Interpretation of drawings, Tolerancing, Manufacturing symbolsSolidwork, Basic modelling, Drawings for manufacture, Basics of tolerancing
CNC Laser / Punch programming/Nesting, Operation, Inspection
Press Brake / Metal Bending
Setting,Operating, Inspection

Welding and Fabrication

Drilling/Tapping/Countersinking, Sawing,MIG/TIG/Spot Welding, In process inspection, Jigs & Fixtures

Powder Coating

Loading/jigging, Pretreatment, Robot Line, Manual Booth, Calibration

Mechanical Assembly

Use of assembly tools, Interpretation of assembly drawings, Use of nonmetallics, Packaging

Inspection

Technical Inspection both in process and finished parts

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
Level 3 Development Competence qualification
Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

3D Design Engineer, Mechanical Assembly, CNC punch / Laser operator, Welder/Fabricator, Press Brake Setter, Further training
