- Champion a culture of safety by enforcing strict adherence to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment
- Ensure safe systems of work are being followed. Stay up-to-date with UK aerospace industry regulations, guidelines, and standards, and ensure the company's compliance. Interpret and apply safety regulations, including those specific to aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, and testing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with industry standards such as NADCAP, AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications specific to Nasmyth Group.
- Maintain accurate records of quality tests, inspections, and audits in accordance with regulatory and industry requirements.
- Develop and maintain company-specific health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols. Identify potential hazards and assess risks in all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, testing, and maintenance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
- Address customer complaints and concerns related to product quality and work towards effective resolution to reduce costs.
- Identify potential quality-related risks and implement preventive measures to mitigate their impact on products and processes.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify non-compliance and areas for improvement. Monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
- Establish quality control procedures for incoming materials, in-process inspections, and final product testing to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to identify and address potential non-conformities and deviations from established standards. Generate regular quality reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, and aircraft accidents.
- Conduct training programs to educate employees about quality standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent understanding of quality assurance.
- Foster open communication channels across departments, including engineering, design, and logistics, to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.
- Lead a team of quality professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure a cohesive and high-performing quality department.
- Organise and conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure that employees are adequately trained in emergency procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e. g, CSP, CIH) may be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the aerospace industry or a related manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA, FAA, ISO 45001, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Leadership abilities to drive change, promote a culture of safety, and influence stakeholders to prioritise health and safety initiatives.

Conduct risk assessments for various activities, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
Health and Safety (H&S) Manager - Safety Policies and Procedures:
Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the specific needs of the industry, including manufacturing, assembly, testing, and maintenance operations.
Health and Safety (H&S) Manager - Training and Education:

Incident Investigation:
Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, or near-misses, analyse root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness:
