    As part of our ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest levels of safety and sustainability across all our operations, we are seeking an independent member to join our esteemed Safety, Security, Health, and Environment Board Sub Committee (SSHEC).Meetings of the SSHEC are held at various NRS site locations.

    The role typically requires a minimum 8 days of meetings commitments per year.


    Role Overview:
    The SSHEC plays a crucial role in providing independent advice, oversight, and assurance to the NRS Company Board.

    As an independent member of the SSHEC, you will contribute invaluable insights and constructive challenges to ensure the effectiveness of our safety, security, health, and environmental management practices.

    This role does not entail any management or governance responsibilities; rather, it focuses on offering expert opinion, analysis, and advice to enhance our SSHEC's decision-making processes.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide expert opinion, analysis, and advice on safety, security, health, and environmental SSHEC meetings, actively engage in discussions, and contribute to decision-making processes.relevant papers and documents to stay informed about key issues and developments.constructive challenges to existing practices and propose innovative solutions to enhance performance.


    Qualifications and Experience:


    experience in leadership and management or regulatory roles related to conventional safety or environmental aspects, particularly in one or more of the following areas:construction/demolition projectsinfrastructure projectsof facilities/sites with significant conventional/construction safety aspectsability to provide independent judgment and valuable insights in complex decision-making scenarios.communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.understanding of government nuclear-related policies and different legislative regimes across devolved administrations (an advantage but not essential).
