This is an excellent opportunity for nurses to develop in a senior role within obstetric theatres and recovery.They must have substational theatre and recovery experience particulalry within the maternity, obstetric or gynaecological setting.
You will support a group of junior theatre nurses and work collabrotively with the midwives, obstricians and anaesthetists.
Working alongsied the band 7 team leader and matron you will be involved in developing the theatre/recovery service at Queen Charlottes.
We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic, motivated and interested in this area of maternity care and wish to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge to ensure the provision of quality care to women and their families both in theatre and recovery.
Our aim is to provide comprehensive care to women by a team of skilled nurses in post anaesthetic care and theatre scrubbing.
You will be part of the delivery suite team and be involved in the care of the mother and baby supported and directed by the midwifery team.
The Band 6 Theatre Nurse in maternity plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of maternity patients during surgical procedures, contributing to positive outcomes and experiences for both mothers and infants.
To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all women/birthing people and their families ( Preoperative and Post-operative major and minor cases)To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without
To assist in leading and monitoring the performance of the nursing team within theatre and recovery
To co-ordinate in the clinical workload working with senior midwife in assessing daily activity
To provide teaching and learning environment for the student midwives, trainee Operating Department Practitioners (ODP), Maternity Support Workers (MSW) and junior staff to achieve their learning outcome.

Evidence of continuous professional development
Care of the deteriorating patient
Able to demonstrate knowledge of clinical role in maternity recovery
Critical Care experience
Familiar with PCA/epidurals for pain relief
Competent in computer/IT skills
Skills required to undertake clinical activity related to theatre/recovery
