We are looking for a Director of Finance with exceptional skills to join a dynamic team based on the Isle of Wight. This role is initially interim but offers a pathway to a permanent position. You should be located on or near the Isle of Wight due to the hybrid nature of the role.

In this key position, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial and resource landscape of a Further Education institution, ensuring it aligns with strategic objectives while maintaining excellent financial performance.

• Collaborate with the Senior Management team to execute the company's financial strategy.
• Ensure financial goals and budgets are achieved in line with the overall strategy.
• Build partnerships with important stakeholders and engage closely with the governing body.
• Supervise audit procedures, risk management, and ensure full compliance with external regulations.
• Take charge of the health and safety and estates department, fostering a positive safety culture.

• Hold a recognized accounting qualification, preferably CCAB or equivalent.
• Demonstrated extensive experience in financial management principles, encompassing management accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, ideally within the realm of further or higher education, university, or local government.
• Familiarity with audit and payroll operations.
• Proficient in risk assessment, management, and adherence to regulations.
• Possess strategic thinking abilities along with practical experience in supporting teams and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership qualities and a logical approach - Be a proactive leader.
• Exhibit drive and excitement for evaluating services and driving change.
• Maintain high standards of client service and possess a well-developed sense of humor.
