The ProjectAs an experienced Senior Estimator, your role will be crucial in estimating projects spanning groundworks, highways, concrete works, and general civils, ranging from £500k to £15m in value.
You will be responsible for ensuring precise and cost-effective estimates, vital for the on-time and within-budget completion of construction projects.
Strong history of successfully operating on various civils projects, including groundworks, highways, concrete works, general civils, with values in excess of £500k - £15mExtensive background within the industry with at least 5 years' experience of working in a Senior Estimator position or similarAdditional skills;
Extensive familiarity and proficiency in utilising relevant estimating software
Solid analytical skills with a strong ability to interpret complex project requirements

Mentor and guide junior estimators, fostering their growth and development
Calculate the required materials for projects, aligning with project plans and specifications
Create detailed cost estimates for diverse civils projects, providing a breakdown of expenses
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure project requirements and budgets are aligned
Examine bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to verify their competitiveness and accuracy
Precisely evaluate the expenses related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services needed for civils projects
Thoroughly examine project specifications, drawings, and related documents to grasp the scope of work and project needs
Perform cost analysis to pinpoint opportunities for cost optimisation and suggest potential cost-saving strategies
Recognise potential risks and uncertainties affecting project costs, and integrate risk contingencies into estimates
Maintain thorough documentation of cost estimates, bid documents, and pertinent data for future reference and analysis
Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive bidsThis is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
