Thames Valley Police, supporting with multiple
fixed term contract Business Change Project Manager vacancies based in
Kidlington.



  • Band 4J, circa £46,622 per annum
  • Core hours Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)
  • Strict police vetting will be conducted.
  • Hybrid working with office based in Kidlington (12 days office based per week)

Role purpose:


To lead the successful delivery of business change projects at force, bi-lateral and regional level including project initiation, planning, resourcing, budget, project governance, implementation, communication, dependency management, risk management, issuemanagement, and project benefits realisation.


Accountability:


  • Be responsible for all aspects of project management for business change projects in Thames Valley Police and in collaboration with other forces.
  • Work to programme managers and senior project sponsors across the organisation.
  • Set up and manage project governance including project boards, teams and working groups.
  • Manage and lead project teams across multiple departments.
  • Plan and manage complex changes including dependencies with other work.
  • Be responsible for decision making within projects including risk and budget management.

Skills required to be successful:


  • Recent and relevant experience in business change project management with proven evidence of successfully starting up a project and delivering and embedding change.
  • PRINCE2 practitioner qualification (or equivalent) or willing to work towards PRINCE
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability tobuild effective relationships and negotiate with multiple stakeholders including theinvolvement of those impacted by change.
  • Proven planning and dependency management skills including experience of prioritising across multiple workstreams. The ability to support senior stakeholders and sponsors to make decisions about priorities based on project outcomes and dependencies.
  • Proven and relevant experience of budget management and resource allocation in a project context.
  • Proven ability to lead crossfunctional teams to achieve project deliverables. The ability to manage project teams, define roles and delegate effectively.
  • Experience of managing collaborated projects across multiple organisations and with external partners.
  • Experience of delivering change in a unionised environment, successful negotiation with staff associations and understanding of the police service and culture.
